Steve, please look at this change set, I have modified based on u'r suggestions above and also added a scheduling service based on java.util.Timer interface https://github.com/rareddy/teiid/commit/d5f0e2149b87ee2d6239167cf84cbce0dd62f0d7

I used "BEGIN ATOMIC" in procedure, but did not see intended effects in my testing.
