With Komodo being a ways out, I can see the benefit of an initial (but simple) implementation that retrieves the the VDB from storage and deploys it.     This would work great in the process flow of moving a VDB thru its life cycle and making it available to access without having to use the admin console to install it.    Especially, since Teiid Designer isn't meant for product deployment.   

Now, when Komodo is available, it could be updated to do deployments in a different manner.
