Next set of logic needed:

Array/row value in comparison:  (a, b) in (select a, b ...)
Add the relowner column to pg_class
col_description, format_type, current_schema, pg_has_role functions

There is also the ability for qgis to consume wms, wfs services, so it is possible to add geoserver as an indirection layer.
