I think it's a good idea if we just sprinkle it in there. If it's just used for a few sample fields, perhaps the application title, then it is nice to show the options that the developer has. Then they can build on it without having to set anything up.
On the other hand, if we scatter i18n message keys all over the place, then it becomes a pain to rip out for people that really don't need it. So let's just keep that in mind.
