The problem exists for local EJBs too when a managed bean tries to inject or lookup the bean. As a workaround i've installed the interfaces as a jboss module and added it in the MANIFEST as Dependencies element both for the bean and the war.

On fix available, the interfaces will be back in the bean project and included in the war project as maven-type-client dependency
