Oleg, I suggest you reply on the dev list to http://lists.jboss.org/pipermail/jboss-as7-dev/2011-December/004833.html before doing too much. As Jaikiran noted, this is a general issue and needs a general solution.

The org.jboss.util.StringPropertyReplacer class in the old jboss-common-core lib has the routine previously used for pure system property replacement. That should be the basis for any AS7 equivalent. It could potentially be used as is if the dev list discussion leads to that decision.
