Mickael Istria commented on JBIDE-6569:
---------------------------------------

The recommanded way to migrate from SVN to Git seems to be usage of svn2git: http://help.github.com/import-from-subversion/ https://github.com/nirvdrum/svn2git

In order to start investigating, we need to have a Git repo. An important choice is "Do we use a JBoss repo managed by JBoss that we'd mirror at GitHub, or do we directly use a GitHub repo?". Although I am confident that GitHub provides lots of nice things, I personally think the first approach is more safe. However, it is more expensive to set it up than a free or a 25$/mo account at GitHub.

When possible, I'll give a try to the svn2git script on a repo of mine at GitHub. I'll report feedback here.
