Most component update-sites (everything except aggregator and central) can be moved without effects: those repo don't need site.xml, site.properties or index.html.
the only required change would be to change regexp in hudson to store repo with pattern target/repository.zip instead of target/site_assembly.zip

More efforts is necessary regarding central or aggregate.
