[rules-users] rule engine state persistence

One more question:

How is the internal state of the rule engine handled? Can it survive a [hosted] server reboot, for example?
I guess what I'm leading to is if I have a rule engine initialized, a few rulesets parsed and loaded and Working Memory filled up with data - can all this be persisted or does it have to be re-created? 

A related question:
As I understand, you can at least pre-compile the rules into packages and load them up at the startup of a hosted server. Now, if I modify / add rules - is it possible to do an incremental rule compilation?
