Thanks for the quick response and for generating a Jira for this issue.

As far as using globals on the LHS, in the Drools Expert User Guide, section 2.5.4.5, it mentioned the following " If you use a
      global on the LHS of a rule, make sure it is immutable.". So, I though I could use globals on the LHS.

Building in a fix now for the action part.

You can't use globals as a fact in a condition (just like normal
rules) - they are special ;)
