[rules-users] trouble getting rule debugging to work in eclipse

I was having the same trouble until I caught this item in the release notes:

It wasn't fixed before or after 5.4.0 Final.  I'm currently working on a
critical project and the lack of a debugger has almost caused me to punch a
fist through the monitor.  In my mind, it's a critical defect but I can't
find any mention of this issue in the project tracker or anywhere else other
than in the release notes.

I'm seriously considering moving to a different product for my next project
unless this gets resolved.  It's taking me twice as long to develop a
knowledgebase as it should.  Any information that anyone else has on this
issue would be greatly appreciated.
