[teiid-designer-dev] Fwd: Connection Factories

One thing I'd like to keep in the back of our minds... is the perception that dealing with a bunch of xxxxx.xml files is the "Norm" when it comes to JBoss Tools

AND.....

There has been lots of "bad" buzz around it. One of the knocks about JBDS/JBT is still the hand-editing of xml files... and managing xml files.

It's not like we're gonna build XML Text editors for Eclipse for Designer. We have the hooks to already Edit (via property panels), what amounts to "-ds.xml" files through the API.

Teiid Tooling is what we are. It's what we do. Teiid Designer needs to provide an attractive user experience. Maybe if that means duplicating some JON-type features to make that happen, so be it.

No, I am not saying to include this. If we can export CF, that is one
way to share. Or user1 can go the deploy directory of the container to
grab the -ds.xml files.
