This is often confusing for new (and experienced) users when specifying the esb configuration and needs consolidating. Ideally all accesses (read/write) should be made to the same location with actions/gateways having the ability to override this through configuration. The current mechanism needs to be supported (perhaps via a configuration option) so that existing code doesn't break.
