For example, to enable this in the quickstart, you could replace : <sql-provider name="SQLprovider" url="jdbc:hsqldb:hsql://localhost:1703" driver="org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver" username="sa" password=""> with <sql-provider name="SQLprovider" datasource="java:/QuickstartDB"> The SQL listener will throw exceptions if both a datasource and a url/driver/username/password combination are specified - only one (datasource or url/driver/username/pass) should be stored in the attributes of the sql-provider tag. Using autoReconnect for datasources seems to be heavily dependent on the options given in the datasource config file - for example, getting this to work under Mysql required the autoReconnect connection property to be set to true and a check-valid-connection-sql string set.
