This way we will be able to reliably select all current and future test reports with a pattern like "**/test-reports/*.xml". If TESTS-TestSuites.xml file is created, please put it in a separate location as otherwise test results parsing overhead will occur as well possibly html report corruption. Another issue is that TestNG tests are not named TEST-<test name>.xml but <testname>.xml. If that can be fixed a pattern like **/TEST-*.xml will work for the reporting tools.
