I have seen this issue before (but only on Windows) and I remember it being a PATH issue.
AFAIR you have to add another folder than the expected %GIT_HOME%/bin.
Burkay, what is the exact platform configuration you are seeing this on? (OS, JDK, Git and
Forge/JBoss Tools versions)

When tried to run the git command from the Eclipse Forge Console an error is returned
saying that no program is found. And yes, I have added git into my PATH. git runs without
problems from terminal as well as the terminal forge (not the eclipse one).
