The Query By Example pattern implemented here uses the JPA entity for encapsulating the search criteria. For boolean fields (not the use of the primitive), this would mean that only search results matching false (the default for boolean members according to the JLS) would be returned if no search criteria were supplied, instead of the expected set of all entities.
