> I tried to create new connection profile to SOAP Web Service using Guides without project in workspace and it doesn't work. Nothing happens after I double-click the menu option.
> I discovered that in order to complete the action using Guides, you need to have some project in workspace and it also needs to be opened, it doesn't work with closed one.
> It actually doesn't work with any other connection (Flat File, JBDC, XML...) using Guides
> You can create the connection profile using File > New > Other... > Connection Profile

> Moved connection related actions to it's own sub-menu, *Connection* under *Modeling* action.
> After further thought, it would simplify things even more if we created a dialog that can edit/manage all connection-related tasks for source models.

> From a usability standpoint, and when working with large models, it would good to group by type (i.e, Table, procedure, etc.) when laying out a model in the tree on the left.

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIIDDES-2003) Usability - In a model, group by types (i.e, Table, procedure, etc.)
by Barry LaFond (JIRA)
Barry LaFond commented on TEIIDDES-2003:
----------------------------------------
Investigated a little. The Content/Label providers are flexible enough, however, the complexity of adding multiple wrapper objects under a model requires the these objects to perform full getParent()/getChildren() methods. Seems like a LOT of work for a visual benefit. Pushing to 8.7

> 1) Set-up simple JDBC source/model/vdb and test/execute VDB
> 2) Delete the Data Source in the Server view
> 3) Try and execute the VDB again and get exception logged in console
> Seems the active/inactive status is old terminology and Designer should be using the isActive() call as well as getValidityErrors() to fine-tune the state of a VDB and prevent Execute VDB from being launched or at least a warning message check.
