For what it's worth, I can confirm this repetition of the background Sanne
describes.
On a tangent and related to style fixes. Not sure whether other projects already use Java 8 for
building, but there are yet again changes to the javadoc doclet output leading to
badly rendered output. We have this problem with Validator's docs [1] and there is a related
design issue [2]. I am wondering whether the design team could help to make sure that the
L&F of reference and java docs are matching. That said, afaict the issue has quite low priority for
them :-(
