You're reading it differently to me. ;-)

A = we cannot release until the VFS is working
B = the vfs works

So Dimitris sentence is just a tautology

A & ~B => ~B & A

I guess you read the "fixing" part as meaning the vfs actually works
when clearly it doesn't by the qualification "breaks other stuff" :-)
