IIRC, cheese goes stale after staying out for a few days.. so all we have to do is dig, and then leave the surround wall at room temperature for a few days, and return.
As far as the "excess cheese" problem, that's easy.. we'll have a crate of wine bottles so none of the delicious moon-cheese goes to waste (though it probably will go to _waist_).

I am honestly more concerned about mining equipment. Do you think we can get <a href="http://imdb.com/title/tt0120591/">Bruce Willis</a> to help us out here?
