duude! There is no life nor atmosphere on the moon thus cheese will not go stale after staying out. The cheese that is up there is just as it was when life left the moon; everone knows that.

thus if you start carving wtihout some stability ensurance mechanism you risk the chance of a full moon cheese collapse which IMO would be bad publicity.
