Darran Lofthouse commented on SECURITY-34:
------------------------------------------

Anil,

Not sure if this is something you would be interested but before joining JBoss I was working on a stand alone implementation of a valve to handle SPNEGO.

I had reached the point that the negotation with Internet Explorer was working and within my valve I was then able to connect to Active Directory as the user that had called the web app.

My main hurdle with completing this project was it was before the generalisation work within Tomcat so I did not have an easy way to pass the credentials on, also I saw Chris was also working on something so that was as far as my project went.
