The issue has been added to the log4j bug tracker : https://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=45896

Could you see more in depth what is the problem and why in this case, log4j crashes ?

If you need some, don't hesitate to ask me more detailed informations on how reproduce the crash.
