No, your understanding of a managed domain is wrong. In a managed domain the domain controller takes care of propagating changes across hosts. This it true for management operation, but also applies to deployments. The console is served from the domain controller and only speaks to it. Any change will then be delegated by the DC across the domain. No need to contact individual hosts separately.
