I guess so (sorry, I don't have an experience about pushing resources but just about transalation.) and please follow the steps described by Sean.

http://lists.jboss.org/pipermail/jboss-l10n/2013-July/000067.html

Please try it for dashbuilder.

Resources of dashbuilder are translated very little. So there is no risk of losing translation.

Btw, I did translation for the following resources a little. So please try 'CopyTrans' after renaming so that we can know how it works.

org.jboss.dashboard-builder/dashboard-commons/org/jboss/dashboard/message_en
org.jboss.dashboard-builder/dashboard-displayer-core/org/jboss/dashboard/displayer/message_en

After we can be sure about 'CopyTrans', please also rename resources of jbpm-dashboard which are more translated.

Regards,
Toshiya

Hi all,

Sorry for replying too late on this, I'm currently on PTO.

We did push to Zanata the English version (considered as the default) of the resource bundles (i.e: messages_en.properties files) as we don't have default bundle files for dashbuilder and jbpm-dashboard. From your comments I guess the normal procedure is to push the default bundles files (i.e: messages.properties) instead of the properties files for a given language.

Is there an easy way to rename messages_en.properties files to messages.properties?
May be pushing again the default bundle instead of English?

We expect from Zanata files like "messages_jp_JP.properties" not "messages_en_jp_JP.properties".
I mean Zanata should provide us back with the English bundles translated to the remain supported locales.

Regards,

- David -

Thank you for the response, Pedro.

I'm not familiar with Zanata mechanism but I guess the resource name 'messages_en' will be considered as a base name so generated files would be like 'message_en_ja_JP.properties'. (I'm not sure...)

Looking at pom.xml,

https://github.com/droolsjbpm/dashboard-builder/blob/master/pom.xml#L239

<plugin>
<groupId>org.zanata</groupId>
<artifactId>zanata-maven-plugin</artifactId>
<configuration>
<includes>**/*_en.properties</includes><!-- TODO Remove (standardize on **/*Constants.properties) -->
</configuration>
</plugin>

the files will be likely renamed in the future.

According to Sean's comment,

http://lists.jboss.org/pipermail/jboss-l10n/2013-July/000067.html

renaming resouce files would require some efforts on project maintainer side ('davidredhat' ... I guess David Gutierrez) but it wouldn't lose translation so I think it's okay to go ahead.

Let us know if you have any thought on this.

Regards,
Toshiya

Are there any possible problems that might arise because of this in the future?

I'd say it's safe to proceed with the translation for dashbuilder, David will review all the resources when he is back from PTO.

Best regards,
Pedro

Pedro,

Can you please advise?

Thanks,
