did you solve this problem? 
PLEASE, tell me if you did!!
I'm struggling with that tree for days now. Even the simplest test with a Backing bean defined in faces-config does not work, it might not have to do with your sfsb.
After having subclassed the ChildPropertyModel to add some debugging output I guess that after the constructor, nothing else happens on the ChildPropertyModel.
