Please read my post dated Mon Oct 22, 2007 11:20 AM and Tue Oct 23, 2007 05:22 AM  on page 2 and 3 of the thread that i pointed in my earlier reply. The classcast is probably because of org.hibernate.event.PostInsertEventListener being loaded by multiple classloaders. 

Let us know if that is not the source of your problems.
