Did you set JAVA_HOME in the system properties? Also see if this post in regards to JAVA_OPTS being set in service.bat helps: http://www.jboss.org/index.html?module=bb&op=viewtopic&t=161121&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=10

If the above does not help, post the contents of the run.log file.
