It looks like the issue was closed by a mistake, as the fix was never applied to trunk. The issue is present in jBPM 4.4 (and likely all previous 4.x versions).   A patch and unit-test is attached to the Jira-issue. I've verified that the patch fixes the issue in jBPM 4.4. No tests fail with the patch applied.   I suggest the following.  o The mentioned issue is reopened o The patch is applied to jBPM trunk o The unit-test is included in jBPM-trunk
