Max. the idea is just move to component with id which is in "for"-like attributes in RichFaces tags.
For example:
1.
<rich:componentControl for="panel" .../>

If user click on reRender="panel" we will move to

<rich:modalPanel id="panel" ...>...

2.
<a:commandButton reRender="out" .../>
If user click on reRender="out" we will move to
<h:panelGroup id="out">
...
