1) opening query result view does not make sense - opening HQL Query editor view makes more sense. (what it was originally afaik)

2) We should not open error log view automatically, that is controlled by the error log view it self. i.e. by default it shows if an error entry gets added and the user can disable that. Why should we implement something extra ?
