Reopen since the fix looks incomplete:

1) It test for perfect match of 1.6 making it impossible to use Java 7 (openjdk) which we shouldn't prevent.
How about checking it is not one of the versions before 1.6 ?

2) Should the error be a warning instead ? (what does other similar launchconfiguration setups do ?)

3) You should use the JavaCore.VERSION* attributes.

4) Looks like the code looks for valid jvms and not the actual jvm used/chosen (i might be wrong ,)
