There is another sides of the "flickering" behaviour:
if the delay were removed the visual part could have been flickered because of the immediate update.

The reason is that VPE needs some time to recreate and redraw its visual part. So the solution is to decrease VPE update time. But as far as I know the editor works as fast as it can now. 

Nevertheless, I will remove the delay.  It also could be an acceptable solution. And we'll be able to test it. I'll appreciate your feedback.
