I had thought it might be like the Null action that was requested (forgotten the esb/soa jira).  

it basically has the following

logger.info("EchoRouter currently routing message " + message + " with payload <<" + content + ">>");

and it returns the same content that it was given.

it is common to have this kind of router in an ESB.

now the question i have is...is org.jboss.soa.esb.actions.SystemPrintln good enough? need kevin's thoughts. 

this would be used in performance testing scenarios
