Check out the above JIRA, I think it is important to have a no op action since it is "required" to have at least one action in the actions the chain.  Whether that action is Println, the EchoRouter, or my requested NullAction, each fit that need in unique ways.  I think all three have their place in the architecture.  Maybe it makes more sense to combine the functionality of all three in one new action?  I have also linked this above, not sure if that is the correct thing to do.
