For remote system deployment I would start configuration form server url like http://hostname.domain.name:8080 and try to discover all what is required for remote deployment:
*remote system type
*server location,
*remote server configuration
*etc

Thats is to say I would lake to have something like thunderbird has for account configuration. you say what is your last/first name and email, then it guesses what it can and then ask you for your password if it is required. You always can switch to full manual process if you think you know better what to do.
