I can confirm only that most of the JSP tags, that are expected not to be visual, are rendered as green horizontal lines in VPE. I agree, this may be confusing to the users. From the other side, visual JSP tags, such as jsp:body, jsp:include, jsp:text are rendered correctly. I have edited the description to reflect this.
