Burr Sutter commented on JBDS-2080:
-----------------------------------

The universal installer is not how the average end-user will work - unless we remove the "native" installers from the page - hide them.

Plus, it is tricky for the average end-user to tweak his Mac-based JVM into 32-bit mode when it wishes to be 64-bit by default. We would be better off prompting the end-user for 32 vs 64 during the installation wizard.

> On Windows & Linux,Java is often just a JRE - installed for other reasons - in some cases the end-user has not ever installed a JDK or does not remember where it is installed. The installer should block until it finds or is provided a proper JDK.
