Can you verify that the fix is (or is not) in 5.4.0.Final (from the update site, not from Central)? 

* Help > Install new > http://download.jboss.org/drools/release/5.4.0.Final/org.drools.updatesite/ > select features you want > etc.

If it's NOT you'll need to get the Drools team involved in respinning 5.4.x to pick up the fix, then we'll have to figure out how to get that update into JBDS so it's accessible from Central. I can assist w/ the latter half (JBDS Central) but I can't make a Drools 5.4.1.Final release out of thin air. :)

Based on what's in github, it appears they haven't looked at doing anything since 5.4.0.Final as the poms in there all say 5.4.0-SNAPSHOT, and trunk is pointing at 5.5.0-SNAPSHOT.
