talking with [~prapicault] I learned that since M6 the following changes are required for proper working p2 product/osx build:

         <product>
           ...
           <rootFolders>
             <macosx>MyProduct.app</macosx>
           </rootFolders>
         </product>

And to use tycho 0.23-snapshot
