FWIW, for Beta1 I've updated the install docs within the CSP [1] to read:

1. If you don't already have one installed, you will need to download and install Oracle or Open JDK 8.

2. Download the installer jar.

3. Double-click the installer file to run it, or open a terminal and type `java -jar /path/to/jboss-devstudio-*.jar`{quote}
