The upstream issue will not be able to make it into SR1. It is simply too late for anything other than stop-ship. I gave my most compelling performance, but the vote was pretty solidly that since wtp common already branched, and the threshhold of requiring +3 PMC votes, would be too high of a hurdle to overcome.   They did say that as long as I do my dilligence and test out the patch, it will make it into SR2 / Neon.
