About HighWaterMark and LowWaterMark

Hi,
  
  I'm not very clear about how to set HighWaterMark and LowWaterMark option,
while i know they're relevant to keeping write ratio. 
  I tried such a case, When one side sended message to the other in a dead
cycle, after about 2-3 seconds, the OutOfMemoryError was thrown. Then how
should I use HighWaterMark and LowWaterMark option to prevent
OutOfMemoryError? Should I utilize the method channel.isWritable() obviously
?
