Tried set relative path to existing image (../../../resources/images/female.png), which is correct when combine with current page path (http://localhost:8080/metamer/faces/components/a4jCommandButton/simple.xhtml/../../../resources/images/female.png -> resolved as http://localhost:8080/metamer/faces/resources/images/female.png and retrieve expected image).

Then set type attribute to "image".

Then button changed to empty rectangle, without text or background. When set "background-color: yellow;" into "style" attribute - whole rectangle get yellow background. When click, its work correctly as submit button.
