We use serialisation for deployment so it's hard to ensure backwards 
compatabilty there - this is why we added the re-build button to the 
BRMS.. MVEL is also the bad culprit here as it breaks serialisation 
compatability from minor release to minor release.

In general the paid version is the version that comes as part of the 
JBoss SOA-P platform, but is available standalone. This binary release 
is not available publicly and goes through extra levels of QA and 
interoprability testing.
