It won't help you right now, but this is something we are working on as 
a priority. The code for running simulations has just hit:

We'll be working on instrumentation and matching code next, to make it 
easier to test the state of the engine. Finally we'll be working on a 
tabular mapping to allow testing in a spreadsheet format.

I suspect you'll see the tabular testing stuff around feb/march.
