[rules-users] Null pointer exception when adding drools to existing project

Pl point me to specific example(s) that have multiple pom files and that also
includes non-drools packages interacting/depdending on the drools packages.
The ones under the folder drools-git\drools-master\drools-examples are
working with single pom file.
as my original question stated, problem lies somewhere in my
configuration(pom file setup)-hence I want to look at a project with
multiple pom files
