If you think that it will take longer than a week to ensure that it works correctly, I'd rather just push out CR1 and start the 7.6 branch.

I've been assuming that we won't release until AS 7.1 regardless, that corresponds to the middle/end of November at the earliest.  If you think that December/January is more likely given the work you've already done, then that too would be a good reason to leave the open the possibility of a 7.6.
