I used the m2e that comes with Indigo which I believe is > 0.12.

I tried installing m2e-wtp 0.12 and I got this error.  I am not surprised by this.

Cannot complete the install because one or more required items could not be found.
  Software being installed: Maven Integration for WTP (Optional) 0.12.0.20110421-1500 (org.maven.ide.eclipse.wtp.feature.feature.group 0.12.0.20110421-1500)
  Missing requirement: Maven Integration for WTP (Optional) 0.12.0.20110421-1500 (org.maven.ide.eclipse.wtp.feature.feature.group 0.12.0.20110421-1500) requires 'org.maven.ide.eclipse.feature.feature.group [0.10.0,1.0.0)' but it could not be found

I tried using this update site ( https://repository.sonatype.org/content/sites/forge-sites/m2eclipse-wtp/0.13.0/N/0.13.0.20110622-0600/ https://repository.sonatype.org/content/sites/forge-sites/m2eclipse-wtp/0.13.0/N/0.13.0.20110622-0600/) 
from here ( https://repository.sonatype.org//content/sites/forge-sites/m2eclipse-wtp/0.13.0/N/ https://repository.sonatype.org//content/sites/forge-sites/m2eclipse-wtp/0.13.0/N/) and it says "There are no categorized items."

So I tried a slightly older build from this update site ( https://repository.sonatype.org/content/sites/forge-sites/m2eclipse-wtp/0.13.0/N/0.13.0.201105121337/ https://repository.sonatype.org/content/sites/forge-sites/m2eclipse-wtp/0.13.0/N/0.13.0.201105121337/) and I get this error:

  Software being installed: Maven Integration for WTP (Optional) 0.13.0.201105121337 (org.maven.ide.eclipse.wtp.feature.feature.group 0.13.0.201105121337)
  Missing requirement: Maven Integration for Eclipse WTP 0.13.0.201105121337 (org.maven.ide.eclipse.wtp 0.13.0.201105121337) requires 'bundle org.eclipse.m2e.maven.runtime [0.13.0,0.15.0)' but it could not be found
  Cannot satisfy dependency:
    From: Maven Integration for WTP (Optional) 0.13.0.201105121337 (org.maven.ide.eclipse.wtp.feature.feature.group 0.13.0.201105121337)
    To: org.maven.ide.eclipse.wtp [0.13.0.201105121337]
